This Privacy Policy explains how Iconic Performance Garage (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit our website at ipguae.com, contact us or bring your vehicle to our workshop. We handle personal data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the “PDPL”).
Who we are
Iconic Performance Garage, Al Kawakib 4 St, M33, Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is responsible for the personal data described in this policy.
Information we collect
- Inquiry and booking forms: your name, phone number, email address, vehicle make and model, service of interest, message and, optionally, a pickup location.
- Conversations you start: details you share when you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email.
- Vehicle and service records: when you bring a vehicle to us, details of the vehicle and of the work requested and carried out.
- Website usage data: basic technical and usage data that cookies may collect, such as your browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you found our website.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- reply to your inquiry or booking request and arrange appointments;
- provide the services you ask for, including any pickup you request;
- keep vehicle and service records and meet our accounting and legal obligations;
- understand how our website is used, keep it secure and improve it; and
- measure and improve our advertising.
When you submit a form, your inquiry is stored in our website’s admin dashboard and emailed to us so that our team can reply.
Our legal grounds
Under the PDPL, we use personal data where:
- you have given consent, for example by accepting analytics or advertising cookies, or by continuing to use our website after being shown our cookie notice (you can withdraw this at any time);
- it is needed to respond to your request or provide a service you have asked for; or
- we must comply with a legal obligation, such as keeping accounting records.
Cookies and your choices
Our website uses essential cookies or similar technologies, for example to remember your cookie choice. When analytics or advertising tools are enabled, a cookie notice appears on your first visit.
If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are only used after you accept them. For visitors from other countries, including the UAE, they are switched on by default and you can decline them at any time using the cookie notice.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the website footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Analytics, advertising and other tools
Depending on which tools are enabled, our website may use:
- Google Analytics 4, to understand how visitors use our website.
- Google Ads conversion tracking, to measure whether our Google adverts lead to inquiries. This may include enhanced conversions, which send Google a hashed version of the email address or phone number you give us.
- Google Tag Manager, which helps us load and manage these tools.
- Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, to measure and improve our adverts on Facebook and Instagram. The Conversions API may send details of website actions, such as submitting an inquiry, to Meta with hashed contact details.
- Google Maps, to show our location. When the map loads, Google may collect information such as your IP address.
Hashing turns your details into a scrambled code before they are sent, so they are not shared in readable form. Google and Meta may match this code with accounts on their platforms to measure our advertising. If you do not want this, please contact us.
Our website fonts are hosted with the website itself, not loaded from Google, so viewing our pages sends no data to Google Fonts.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal data. We only share it:
- with service providers who help us run our website and business, such as our hosting and email providers and the analytics and advertising platforms described above;
- when required by law or by a competent authority; or
- with your consent, for example with a parts supplier or an insurer for a job you have asked us to carry out.
Google, Meta and WhatsApp handle information under their own privacy policies.
International transfers
Some service providers, including Google and Meta, may process data outside the UAE. Where this happens, we take steps to make sure the transfer is permitted under the PDPL.
How long we keep your information
- Inquiry records: up to 24 months, unless we need them for longer for an active service, or for legal or accounting reasons.
- Vehicle service records: for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes.
- Other messages: for as long as needed to deal with your request.
- Cookies: for the period set for each cookie, unless you delete them sooner.
When we no longer need personal data, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data and limit access to those who need it. No online service is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as payment card details, through our forms or messages.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in the PDPL, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict or stop using your data;
- object to the use of your data for marketing or advertising;
- ask us to transfer your data to another organisation where technically possible; and
- withdraw your consent at any time.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also have rights under your local data protection law where it applies.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first and will respond within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied, you may be able to complain to the relevant data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change the tools we use. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Please also read our Terms of Service.
